Jacob Oram struck | NZ won by 146 runs | 1st ODI

In the first ODI between Bangladesh New Zealand of New Zealand Tour of Bangladesh, New Zealand won by 146 runs.

After winning the toss NZ elected to bat first and scored a huge total for Bangladesh in the scoreboard. They Scored 336 runs in 50 overs loosing 9 wickets. Jacob Oram, NZ's all rounder, played a smart innings. He scored 83 runs from just 40 deliveries with 8 fours and 5 sixes in the end of innings. They lost first 2 wickets in just 19 runs. Then debbutent opening batsman Peter John Ingram, who made his maiden half century,and Ross Taylor rebuild the innings. Ingram scored 69 off 74 balls while Ross Taylor scored 51 runs. Neil Broom also played a solid innings. Before run out he scored 71 runs from 73 balls. Among the Bangladeshi bowlers Shafiul Islam was the most successful. He made his career best figure (4/68) while Naeem Islam, Shahadat Hossain, Sakib AL Hasan took 1 wicket each.

Batting second, Bangladeshi openers started well. Opening partnership was broken when the score was 71 runs. Imrul Kayes was out by McKay scoring 33 runs from 29 balls with 2 huge sixes. Another opener Tamim Iqbal scored his 13th ODI fifty, scoring 62 off 69 balls. But then no other batsman took the responsibility again and collapsed their backbone easily. Number seven batsman Mahmudullah scored the 3rd highest 23 runs. NZ captain Daniel Vettori took 3 wickets, while Martin Guptill, Jacob Oram and Andy McKay took 2 wickets each.

The next match will be held on 8th February.

Thursday

NZ won the T-20 in their fashion

New Zealand won the tour opening only T-20 match against visiting team Bangladesh by 10 wickets easily bt Seddon Park. They achieved small target of 79 runs without loosing any wicket. New Zealand's opening batsman McCullum scored unbeaten 56 runs from just 27 balls. They took only 8.2 overs and won by 10 wickets.

Earlier Bangladesh won the toss and scored a small total of 78 for the loss of all wickets. Their top order batsmen were very irresponsible and through their wickets. Raqibul Hasan was the highest scorer. He scored 18 runs. Among the New Zealand bowlers Vettori was most successful he took 3 wickets spending only 6 runs while N McCullum took 2 for 15 runs.

Bangladesh started their New Zealand tour with very much bad performance today. They will play the next match, 1st ODI of 3 match ODI series, on 5th February.

Ban vs NZ | T-20 | Ban: 78/10

In the only T-20 match between Bangladesh and New Zealand of New Zealand Tour of Bangladesh 2010, Bangladesh were all out in just 78 runs today.

Earlier Bangladeshi Captain Sakib Al Hasan won the toss and elected to bat first. Bangladeshi opening batsman Tamim Iqbal and Mohammad Ashraful had not a good start. And none of the others did take the responsibility. They lost wickets in regular intervals.

Aftab Ahmed, ICL Star of Dhaka Warrior, returned in International Cricket in this match and did not played much. He scored 12 runs off 14 deliveries.

Raqibul Hasan was the highest scorer, number eight batsman, who scored 18 runs from 13 balls with 2 fours and a six.

Tamim Iqbal struck | Bangladesh 228/3 | Day 3 Stump

Bangladeshi opening batsman Tamim Iqbal played an extra ordinary innings and gave Bangladesh a flying start in the second innings in 3rd Day of Final Test in Dhaka.

In the second innings Bangladesh lost their first wicket earlier, Imrul Kayes, when the score was only 19. Then Tamim Iqbal and Junayed Siddique took the responsibility on their solder. Tamim and Junayed made a 200 runs partnership and build the innings for a massive total. Tamim made his second test hundred, career highest, today. He scored 151 runs from 183 balls including 18 boundaries and 3 sixes. While Junayed scored his 55 runs, his 5th Test Fifty, from 144 balls including 5 boundaries. But at the end of the day, the last 10 overs were dominated by the Indian Bowlers. Zahir Khan took two successful batsmen Tamim Iqbal and Junayed Siddique. Shahadat Hossain and Mohammad Ashraful were not out with 2 runs each at Day-3 Stump. 

Tamim Iqbal and Junayed Siddique's partnership was a little bit bad news for India but finally had been broken. But there is also some bad news for them. Sachin Tendulkar is also injured in the field.

Earlier, India added 85 runs with their previous day's total and declared their innings with a 311 runs first innings lead. Sachin Tendulkar (143) and Rahul Dravid (111) scored tremendous hundred in the previous day. MS Dhoni scored 89 runs and just missed another test hundred before out by Raqibul Hasan. Yuvraj Sigh did not bat because of his injury. Shafiul Islam was the most successful bowler, he took 3 wickets for 86 runs.

Captain Cook will start his journey against Bangladesh

English team has been announced for the upcoming Bangladesh tour during February and March this year. Alastair Cook has been selected the test captain. Captain Cook will start his journey of captaincy against Bangladesh. Previous captain Andrew Strauss has been given rest.

English selector Geoff Miller said, 'Andrew Strauss has provide outstanding leadership for the team in both forms of the game over the part 12 months and selectors feel it is important that he takes a break ahead of an extremely busy program of international cricket leading ur to and including the Ashes series in Australia and the World Cup 2011.'

The English team will play a two match test series and a three match ODI series in their Bangladesh tour.

India leading 123 runs with 9 wickets in hand | Day 3 Stump

India is leading 123 runs with 9 wickets in hand at the end of the day 3 of 1st Test against Bangladesh of Idea Test Series 2010 in Chittagong today.

The match had been started delay due to bad weather in the morning. Bangladesh finished with 59 runs with the loss of 3 wickets at the end of the day 2. In the first session of Day-3 India took 3 more wickets. But Musfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah fought back for Bangladesh and made a 108 runs partnership for the 7th wicket. Mahmudullah scored 69 and Musfiqur Rahim scored 44 runs. These two batsman kept Bangladesh in a reasonable figure. They almost took the lead in first innings but finally managed to score 242, while India was all out for 243 runs in their first innings. Among the Indian Bowler Zaheer Khan and Amit Mishra was most successful, they took 3 wickets each.

In the second innings India started well again. They lost their first wicket, only wicket today, scoring 90 in the board. Virender Sehwag scored 45 runs before out by Bangladeshi Captain Sakib Al Hasan. Gautam Gamvir and Amit Mishra, night watchman, are not out with 47* and 24* runs at the end of the Day-3.

Monday

India all out in 243 in 1st Innings

In the first test between Bangladesh and India, Sakib Al Hasan won the toss and selected to ball first and invited India bat first. India were bowled out in the 1st session of 2nd day and just managed to score 243 runs.

India started well in the morning yesterday. Shewag and Gamvir made a good opening partnership of 79 runs. Shewag scored 52 runs. And they collapsed easily while Shahadat and Sakib were taking wickets continuously. Both of them took 5 wickets.

Indian master blaster batsman Sachin Tendulkar scored his 44th Test Hundred, the highest, and stayed not out 105 runs.

Aftab and Shahriar Nafeez back in the Team


BCB has declared their team of 15 member for the next Idea Cup 2010. Aftab Ahmed and Shahriar Nafeez, players of Dhaka Warier in ICL, came in the team. But Bangladesh is missing their Captain Masrafi Bin Mortaza due to injury. Mortaza is not clinically fit for cricket. Sakib Al Hasan, the top raked player in ODI-All Rounder group, has been selected as captain for the next Idea Cup 2010 and the upcoming test series against India.

Zunaid Siddique has been out of the team for bad form. And Shafiul Islam, young fast bowler, has been selected first time in Bangladesh National Team as his reward of good form in Premiere League. He was the highest wicket taker in Premiere League; he got 30 wickets. Shahriar Nafeez and Aftab Ahmed also spend good time in Premiere League also. Shahriar Nafeez scored 502 runs in 11 matches while Aftab Ahmed scored 461 runs in 13 matches.

Bangladesh won the series by 4-1

The pitch of 5th ODI in Chittagong was looking a good solid balling pitch but sporty. Bangladeshi captain Sakil Al Hasan won the toss and elected to field first and Zimbabwe scored 221 for the loss of 9 wkts. Brendon Tylor scored unbeaten 118 while second top score is 38 from Chigumbura. Among the Bangladeshi ballers Sakib, Razzak and Mahmudullah got 3 wkts each.

In reply Bangladeshi opener Tamim Iqbal felt retired hard in the very first over and lost another 4 wkts while 102 runs scored in scoreboard. But the middle order batsman Naeem Islam played an outstanding innings of 72 from 93 balls.

Bangladesh won the 5th ODI by 1 wkt and the series by 4-1.

Result of BAN vs ZIM 4th ODI

In Chittagong, Bangladesh crushed Zimbabwe by a 6 wkt victory in 4th ODI of 5 matct Grameen Phone Cup Series and leading the series by 3-1.

Batting first Zimbabwe scored only 44 runs from 24.5 ovrs. The lowest score in One Day cricket is also belongs to Zimbabwe, 35 againts Srilanka. The Bangladeshi bowlers have done very good job here. Both the opening bowler Nazmul and Razzak got 2 wkts each for 10 runs and Enamul (Jr) and captain Sakib got 3 wkts each. Among the Zimbabwe batsman only Malcom Waller (13) and Stuart Matsikenyeri (11) managed to score double figure.

In reply Bangladesh scored 49 runs loosing 4 wkts. Opening batsman Tamim Iqbal, man of the match of 3rd ODI, scored 22 runs from 26 balls. Ray Price and Cremer got 2 wkts each.
