England won the second ODI against South Africa yesterday and took the lead of 1-0 in CENTURION, South Africa. Batting first South Africa scored 250 and England won by 7 wickets. The first ODI between England and South Africa was drawn due to rain and the second was played in quite sporting ground. English captain won the toss and elected to field first. And they were successful to keep the target in their favor.
South African lost two quick wickets in 38 runs. But the opener Hashim Amla (57) and JP Duminy (41) built a partnership of 73 and re-constructed the innings. Middle order batsman Alviro Petersen was the highest scored. He scored 64 runs from 65 runs. And Mark Boucher scored 30 runs not out. They finally managed 250 runs in scoreboard in 50 overs. English fast bowler James Anderson took 3 wickets for the loss of 60 runs.
England also lost two top order batsman for 45 runs. Opening batsman Jonathan Trott scored maiden 87 runs while Paul Collingwood batted the innings through. Paul Collingwood scored his 5th ODI century. That was a match winning innings of 105 runs not out. South African bowler Charl Langeveldt was most successful among the bowlers. He took 2 wickets for 46.
