First TIE of World Cup 2011


It was a hard day today in the history of World Cup Cricket 2011. India vs England was the first tied match in the history of World Cup Cricket 2011. After winning the toss Indian captain MS Dhoni elected to bat first. And to prove his decision was not wrong Indian opening batsman gave India a flying start.India lost Shewag earlier but Master Blaster batsman Shachin Tendulkar had written another historic innings of 120 runs with 10 boundaries and 5 over-boundaries. Among others Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Sing scored 51 and 58 runs. And finally India managed to score 338 runs, a huge total!

But English Captain Andrew Stauss gave the perfect reply! He played an extraordinary innings, 158 runs from 145 balls, the highest score by an English batsman in World Cup history. In reply of 338 runs England also scored 338 runs from 50 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. Besides Andrew Stauss's innings Ian Bell was impressive, 69 runs from 71 balls. Among the Indian bowlders Zahir Khan took 3 wickets for 64 runs from his 10 overs.

In the breathless match the home team was unable to win, while also do the same by the English! This was the first tie of the history of Cricket World Cup 2011.
