India took the 2-1 lead

India took the lead of 2-1 in the 3rd match of this current 5 match series. They have won the match by 7wickets.

Earlier Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. Dilshan and Tharanga started well. Dilshan scored 41 runs from 18 balls while Tharanga scored scored 79 runs with a very good run rate. They score 152 runs in first 20 overs for the loss of 1 wicket. They were almost going through a massive total, but Indian bowlers came back in the game. R Jadeja took 4 wickets while Nehra took 2 important wickets. Finally Sri Lanka managed to score 239 runs.

Indian opening batsman V Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar gave India flying start. Sehwag, the captain, scored 44 runs, while Sachin bated the innings through. He was 96 not out. Sachin Tendulkar, the most centurian of ODI history, just missed his another century today. He is the owner of 45 ODI centuries and 93 ODI half centuries.

Indian regular captain MS Dhoni was banned for two ODIs for slow over rate. Today V Sehwag took the responsibility and succeeded, while his part records were not good. As a captain he led the team to victory 2 times out of 5.
