In the first day of first test match betwen Pakistan and New Zealand, Pakistan won the toss and invited New Zealand bat first. Pakistani opening bowler Mohammad Aamer took the wicket of Tim McIntosh in the very first ball of the day. Another opening bowler Mohammad Asif took the wicket of Daniel Flynn when the scoreboard was in 27! Pakistani pace bowlers gave a good start.
But New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor and Guptill made a good partnership of 117 runs and rebuilt the innings from this stage. Ross Taylor just missed a test century. He scored 94, while Guptill 60 runs.
At the end of the day Daniel Vettori (40*) and Brendon McCullum (25*) was batting. Pakistani bowler Mohammad Asif took 3 wickets for 76 and Mohammad Aamer took 2 wickets for 62 runs.
