It was a hard day today in the history of World Cup Cricket 2011. India vs England was the first tied match in the history of World Cup Cricket 2011. After winning the toss Indian captain MS Dhoni elected to bat first. And to prove his decision was not wrong Indian opening batsman gave India a flying start.India lost Shewag earlier but Master Blaster batsman Shachin Tendulkar had written another historic innings of 120 runs with 10 boundaries and 5 over-boundaries. Bangladesh won the important low scoring match against Ireland in Mirpur in their group match of World Cup 2011 by 27 runs. In 2007 Ireland beat Bangladesh so this match was a revenge for the home team. After winning the toss Bangladeshi captain Shakib Al Hasan elected to bat first. Bangladeshi opener Tamin Iqbal and Imrul Kayes gave Bangladesh a flying start. They scored 51 runs in just 6 overs. But Irish bowlers came in the game with taking 4 quick wickets. Bangladeshi middle order batsman Rahim and Rakibul made a 61run partnership to rebuild the innings but again the Irish bowlers took some regular wickets. And finally Bangladesh managed to score 205 runs for the loss of all wickets.

The 4th ODI of Micromax ODI CUP between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe has been abandoned due to yesterday's heavy rain in Chittagong. The out-field was not dry enough for a match play. Umpires and officials visited the field at 12.30pm and took the decision of abandon the match without playing a ball.

Bangladesh is now leading the series by 2-1. But this match was very important for the host. If they could win the series by 4-1 there would be a change to jump one step ahead in ICC ODI Ranking. On the other hand Zimbabwe won only the series opening match and lost the other two. They still have one more game in hand to draw the series.

Zimbabwe won the first match against Bangladest in the series opening match. Bangladesh won their last home series against New Zealand by 4-0 and started the morning as favorit but the collapse top-middle order they finally lost by 9 runs.

Earlier Zimbabwan opening batsman made a fifty one run opening partnership. But the spinners of Bangladesh stopped their scoring rate and picked some vital wickets timely. Zimbabwe lost 5 wickets in just 98 runs, the Chakabva and Ervine took the responsibility in their shoulder and reconstruct the innings. Chakabva scored 45 runs while Ervine scored 41 runs. And finally managed to score 209 runs. Among the Bangladeshi bowlers Razzak was most successful, he took 4 wickets.

In reply Tamim Iqbal and Imrul Kayes started well. But after departure of Tamim the top-middle order suddenly collapsed. England won the 2nd Test against Pakistan by 9 wickets. Pakistan has set a small target of 118 runs to England for the 4th innings. The English crossed the target easy loosing only Cook when 7 runs in board. Then Strauss and Trott took the responsibility and rebuilt the innings. Both of the scored 53 runs not out. And the only wicket was taken by Mohammad Amer.

Earlier Pakistan were all out in 296 runs in their 2nd innings. Zulkarnain Haider scored 88 runs while Sayed Azmal scored a solid half century. English spinner Grand Swann truck yesterday badly. Pakistani bowlers brought back themselves in the match by booked England in 251 runs. The not out batsman of previous day started well today but did not manage to score a huge total. India won the 3rd Test against Sri Lanka by 5 wkt in the 5th day. They started the day with 53 for 3 and had a target of 204 more runs to win. They lost the night watchman after adding 9 runs to yesterdays score. But Sachin and VVS Laxman had a century partnership and rebuild the innings. Tendulkar was out scoring 54 runs while Laxman was not out with 103 runs. Other not out batsman was Raina scoring 41 runs. Sri Lankan bowler Randiv took the 2 wickets of the day. Therefore he took all the five wickets of Indian 2nd innings for 82 runs. India won the match by 5 wkt and series level by 1-1.

This is the first defeat for Sri Lanki in P Sara since August 1994 and also the 4th win for India in Sri Lanka.

The mission of Bangladesh cricket team is fully failed. Before leaving country, Captain and others told, they want atleast one win, against Pakistan, and go to the next super eight round. But they lost the first match against Pakistan at St Lucia and had a little chance to go to the next round by winning against Australia. In the final league match Bangladeshi boys started well. They took Australia's first six wickets in regular intervals. Australia was 66/6 in 12.5 overs at a stage. But in the last five overs Australians took the control of the match in their hand and scored 59 runs and managed to score a defending total of 141. In repley, Mohammad Ashraful and Imrul kayes came to start the innings for Bangladesh and went back to pavellion without scoring. Among other batsman Sakib-al-hasan scored 28 runs, the highest. They were also loosing wickets in regular interval and missed a solid scope of win. Finally Bangladesh managed to score 114 runs for the loss of all wickets. And the mission is failed again.

There was no surprise and experiment when the national cricket selectors announced a 15 member squad on Tuesday recalling Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Mohammad Ashraful for the ICC World Twenty 20 in West Indies in April-May this year. And Shakib Al-hasan's captaincy remain unchanged.
Mohammad Ashraful, former skipper, was dropped for the recent home series against England due to poor run of form. The chief selector Rafiqul said, 'we considered Ashraful's experience and he is a potential match-winner with the ability to improvise in limited-overs cricket which makes him an important part of the team in this tournament'. He also added, 'we know that he is struggling with his batting form but we are confident that he will come back strongly'.

Mashrafe, most attacking pace bowler of Bangladesh, was given rest in home series against England due to injury. But now selectors think he is fit for T-20 challenge.

Pakistan almost won the game, but lost by 2 runs in a low scoring T-20 match. After winning the toss Australia selected to bat first. But they manages to score only 127 runs in the board. David Hussey took the roll of giving lead in the front. He scored 40* from 31 balls. While Captain Michael Clarke scored 32 runs also. Pakistani pace bowler Umar Gul took 3 wickets while Shoaib Malik took 2.

In the first ODI between Bangladesh New Zealand of New Zealand Tour of Bangladesh, New Zealand won by 146 runs.

After winning the toss NZ elected to bat first and scored a huge total for Bangladesh in the scoreboard. They Scored 336 runs in 50 overs loosing 9 wickets. Jacob Oram, NZ's all rounder, played a smart innings. He scored 83 runs from just 40 deliveries with 8 fours and 5 sixes in the end of innings. They lost first 2 wickets in just 19 runs. Then debbutent opening batsman Peter John Ingram, who made his maiden half century,and Ross Taylor rebuild the innings. Ingram scored 69 off 74 balls while Ross Taylor scored 51 runs. Neil Broom also played a solid innings. Before run out he scored 71 runs from 73 balls. Among the Bangladeshi bowlers Shafiul Islam was the most successful. He made his career best figure (4/68) while Naeem Islam, Shahadat Hossain, Sakib AL Hasan took 1 wicket each.

Batting second, Bangladeshi openers started well. Opening partnership was broken when the score was 71 runs. Imrul Kayes was out by McKay scoring 33 runs from 29 balls with 2 huge sixes. Another opener Tamim Iqbal scored his 13th ODI fifty, scoring 62 off 69 balls. But then no other batsman took the responsibility again and collapsed their backbone easily. Number seven batsman Mahmudullah scored the 3rd highest 23 runs. NZ captain Daniel Vettori took 3 wickets, while Martin Guptill, Jacob Oram and Andy McKay took 2 wickets each.

New Zealand won the tour opening only T-20 match against visiting team Bangladesh by 10 wickets easily bt Seddon Park. They achieved small target of 79 runs without loosing any wicket. New Zealand's opening batsman McCullum scored unbeaten 56 runs from just 27 balls. They took only 8.2 overs and won by 10 wickets.

Earlier Bangladesh won the toss and scored a small total of 78 for the loss of all wickets. Their top order batsmen were very irresponsible and through their wickets. Raqibul Hasan was the highest scorer. He scored 18 runs. Among the New Zealand bowlers Vettori was most successful he took 3 wickets spending only 6 runs while N McCullum took 2 for 15 runs.

Bangladesh started their New Zealand tour with very much bad performance today. They will play the next match, 1st ODI of 3 match ODI series, on 5th February.

Disappointing batting by the Bangladeshi

Morning does not show the day always, specially when the Bangladeshi batsmen are batting! Ashraful (2*) and Shahadat (2*), the night watchman, started well in the morning of 4th day of second test in Dhaka. They finished Day 3 at the score of 228/3. In the 4th wicket partnership they added 68 runs. Shahadat, the night watchman, scored 40 runs which is 3rd highest of the inning! But after his out Bangladeshi batting colupsed very easily. They lost 6 wickets in difference of 14 runs.

Young Ashraful, most experience batsman of the team, did not carry the pressure. However, he played more than 50 test matches but his experience also did not help him. He scored 25 runs from 68 deliveries. He always play pre-determined shot. Today he might thought not to be aggressive, so he did not punish the bad balls. But finally he gave his wicket to the Indian as a gift.

There was nothing special in the pitch for the bowlers. But the specialist Bangladeshi batsman played like playing in a bowling benefited wicket! Actually there were lack of responsibility and temperment. Bangladeshi captain Sakib-al-hasan hit a six in the first ball of his inning. He had no patience while this was a test match not a T-20 match and there were 7 sessions left. He scored 7 runs from 6 balls. He should be more responsible next time. Mushfiqur rahim hit two 4s and Bangladesh just crossed the line of 311runs and took 1 run lead before lunch for the loss of 9 wickets. After lunch Indian bowler Zahir Khan spent 3 balls to took the wicket of Rubel Hossain. And Indian batted just 2 balls to score 2 runs.

Indian pace bowler Zahir Khan was the most successful man of the day. He took 7 wickets for 87 runs, his career best. He took 3 wickets in an over and made the damage. Ojha and Harvajan took 2 and 1 wicket respectively. Zahir Khan was selected the Man of The Match and the Man of The Series.

Bangladeshi opening batsman Tamim Iqbal played an extra ordinary innings and gave Bangladesh a flying start in the second innings in 3rd Day of Final Test in Dhaka.

In the second innings Bangladesh lost their first wicket earlier, Imrul Kayes, when the score was only 19. Then Tamim Iqbal and Junayed Siddique took the responsibility on their solder. Tamim and Junayed made a 200 runs partnership and build the innings for a massive total. Tamim made his second test hundred, career highest, today. He scored 151 runs from 183 balls including 18 boundaries and 3 sixes. While Junayed scored his 55 runs, his 5th Test Fifty, from 144 balls including 5 boundaries. But at the end of the day, the last 10 overs were dominated by the Indian Bowlers. Zahir Khan took two successful batsmen Tamim Iqbal and Junayed Siddique. Shahadat Hossain and Mohammad Ashraful were not out with 2 runs each at Day-3 Stump.

Tamim Iqbal and Junayed Siddique's partnership was a little bit bad news for India but finally had been broken. But there is also some bad news for them. Sachin Tendulkar is also injured in the field.

Earlier, India added 85 runs with their previous day's total and declared their innings with a 311 runs first innings lead. Sachin Tendulkar (143) and Rahul Dravid (111) scored tremendous hundred in the previous day. MS Dhoni scored 89 runs and just missed another test hundred before out by Raqibul Hasan. Yuvraj Sigh did not bat because of his injury. Shafiul Islam was the most successful bowler, he took 3 wickets for 86 runs.

Sachin stricks again and got his 45th!

Indian little master Sachin Tendulkar made another test hundred, his 45th test century, at Sher-e-bangla National Stadium in Dhaka in the second and final test match against Bangladesh. After Day-2, India took 226 runs lead with 5 wickets in hand.

Earlier Bangladeshi captain Sakib-al-hasan won the toss and ejected to bat first. But the two Bangladeshi opening batsmans, Tamim Iqbal and Imrul kayes, were find themselves out without started scoring! Number three batsman Junayed, replacement of Shahriar Nafiz, gifted his wicket to Indian bowler. However number five batsman Raqibul Hasan did the same thing. The number four batsman of Bangladesh team was Young Ashraful, the most talented player of the team, who never learn from his mistakes because he is over confident and always plays pre-determined shot. In the first innings he started his test batting in ODI style. He scored 39 runs from 30 balls and got himself out with a pre-determined shot again. Mohammad Ashraful is the only Bangladeshi batsman who got the highest chance for playing in international level but did not achieve maturity yet, while he has experience of playing more than 50 test matches.

The number eight batsman of this team, Mahmudullah Riyad, was the highest scorer again. He has just missed his maiden test hundred. He scored 96 not out. He was the highest scorer of 1st innings of 1st test. He is performing regularly but his batting order was not improved which was a very bad decision.

Bangladesh managed to score 233 for the loss of all wickets in their first innings, while India scored 459 for 5 wickets at the end of the Day 2. Now India is leading by 226 runs with 5wickets in hand in 1st innings,

India has won the first test match of Idea Cup Test Series in Chittagong by 113 runs.

India set a huge target of 415 runs for Bangladesh in 4th innings. In the 5th day Bangladesh needed 348 runs with 8 wickets in hand. Two not out batsman of previous day were Tamim Iqbal and Mohammad Ashraful. Ashraful got himself out in the first spell of first session of the day of Indian pace bowlers. Tamim scored his 5th test fifty (52 runs), the second highest of the innings. Bangladesh lost tamim and Raqibul before lunch. And finally managed to score 301 for the loss of all wickets. Mushfiqur rahim was the top scorer. He had a maiden test hundred, the quickest among any Bangladeshi in test cricket, from 112 balls. He played a solid innings with building some small partnership with tail enders. Among Indian bowlers Amit Mishra was most successful, he took 4 wickets.

Sachin Tendulkar was selected Man of the Match for his brilliant century in first innings. Tendulkar, the highest century holder in both Test and ODI cricket, scored his 44th test century in first innings. The last and and final test will be held on 24 of this month in Dhaka.

English team has been announced for the upcoming Bangladesh tour during February and March this year. Alastair Cook has been selected the test captain. Captain Cook will start his journey of captaincy against Bangladesh. Previous captain Andrew Strauss has been given rest.

English selector Geoff Miller said, 'Andrew Strauss has provide outstanding leadership for the team in both forms of the game over the part 12 months and selectors feel it is important that he takes a break ahead of an extremely busy program of international cricket leading ur to and including the Ashes series in Australia and the World Cup 2011.'

India is leading 123 runs with 9 wickets in hand at the end of the day 3 of 1st Test against Bangladesh of Idea Test Series 2010 in Chittagong today.

The match had been started delay due to bad weather in the morning. Bangladesh finished with 59 runs with the loss of 3 wickets at the end of the day 2. In the first session of Day-3 India took 3 more wickets. But Musfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah fought back for Bangladesh and made a 108 runs partnership for the 7th wicket. Mahmudullah scored 69 and Musfiqur Rahim scored 44 runs. These two batsman kept Bangladesh in a reasonable figure. They almost took the lead in first innings but finally managed to score 242, while India was all out for 243 runs in their first innings. Among the Indian Bowler Zaheer Khan and Amit Mishra was most successful, they took 3 wickets each.

In the second innings India started well again. They lost their first wicket, only wicket today, scoring 90 in the board. Virender Sehwag scored 45 runs before out by Bangladeshi Captain Sakib Al Hasan. Gautam Gamvir and Amit Mishra, night watchman, are not out with 47* and 24* runs at the end of the Day-3.

In the first test between Bangladesh and India, Sakib Al Hasan won the toss and selected to ball first and invited India bat first. India were bowled out in the 1st session of 2nd day and just managed to score 243 runs.

India started well in the morning yesterday. Shewag and Gamvir made a good opening partnership of 79 runs. Shewag scored 52 runs. And they collapsed easily while Shahadat and Sakib were taking wickets continuously. Both of them took 5 wickets.

Pakistani Bowler Asif took 6 wickets, his career best, in the first innings and bound Australia in 127 runs in first innings, which is a rare case now a days for Australia in Test Cricket. Australian Mitchell Johnson is the highest scorer. He scored 38 run. Pakistani opening bowler Mohammad Sami took first 3 wickets and then Mohammad Asif did the devastation.

In reply Pakistan scored 331 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the first innings at the end of the day 2. BCB has declared their team of 15 member for the next Idea Cup 2010. Aftab Ahmed and Shahriar Nafeez, players of Dhaka Warier in ICL, came in the team. But Bangladesh is missing their Captain Masrafi Bin Mortaza due to injury. Mortaza is not clinically fit for cricket. Sakib Al Hasan, the top raked player in ODI-All Rounder group, has been selected as captain for the next Idea Cup 2010 and the upcoming test series against India.

Zunaid Siddique has been out of the team for bad form. And Shafiul Islam, young fast bowler, has been selected first time in Bangladesh National Team as his reward of good form in Premiere League. India has ensured their series win in 4th ODI in Kolkata yesterday of 5 match series against Sri Lanka as 3-1. They won the match by 7 wickets.

After winning the toss Sri Lanka selected the batting first and scored a good total of 315 for 6 wickets. After lossing the early wickets of Dilshan (9) and Jayasuriya (15) another opener Upul Tharanga and Sangakara took the pressure and keep the score in a higher place. Upul Tharanga scored 118 runs while Sangakara scored 60 runs,

India lost their two opener earlier. But Gautam Gamvir and Virat Kohli made a huge partnership of 224 runs. Virat Kohli made a maiden century. He scored 107 runs. But Gautam Gambhir played the innings through. Gamvir scored unbeaten 150 runs from 137 balls. India won the match by 7 wickets with 11 balls to spare. The final match of the series will be held on 27th of this month.

India took the lead of 2-1 in the 3rd match of this current 5 match series. They have won the match by 7wickets.

Earlier Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. Dilshan and Tharanga started well. Dilshan scored 41 runs from 18 balls while Tharanga scored scored 79 runs with a very good run rate. They score 152 runs in first 20 overs for the loss of 1 wicket. They were almost going through a massive total, but Indian bowlers came back in the game. R Jadeja took 4 wickets while Nehra took 2 important wickets. Finally Sri Lanka managed to score 239 runs.

Indian opening batsman V Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar gave India flying start. Sehwag, the captain, scored 44 runs, while Sachin bated the innings through. He was 96 not out. Sachin Tendulkar, the most centurian of ODI history, just missed his another century today. He is the owner of 45 ODI centuries and 93 ODI half centuries.

Indian regular captain MS Dhoni was banned for two ODIs for slow over rate. Today V Sehwag took the responsibility and succeeded, while his part records were not good. As a captain he led the team to victory 2 times out of 5.

Finally Indian cricket team became the "No.01 Test Team" in ICC Ranking with winning the 3rd Test against Sri Lanka today.

B atting first Sri Lankan batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan (109) and Angelo Mathews (99) took the score in almost high in board. They were all out in 393 runs. Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh took 4 wkts. In reply, India scored almost double than Sri Lanka. They scored 26/9 in their only innings. While Sri Lanka scored 309 in their second innings and lost test by an innings and 24 runs.

With winning this test match India won the series in 2-0 also. And they took the top position of Test Ranking from South Africa. Now India is leading the Test Ranking Table with 124 points and South Africa carries 122 points in second position. All India is celebrating for this victory. England won the second ODI against South Africa yesterday and took the lead of 1-0 in CENTURION, South Africa. Batting first South Africa scored 250 and England won by 7 wickets. The first ODI between England and South Africa was drawn due to rain and the second was played in quite sporting ground. English captain won the toss and elected to field first. And they were successful to keep the target in their favor.

South African lost two quick wickets in 38 runs. But the opener Hashim Amla (57) and JP Duminy (41) built a partnership of 73 and re-constructed the innings. Middle order batsman Alviro Petersen was the highest scored. He scored 64 runs from 65 runs. And Mark Boucher scored 30 runs not out. They finally managed 250 runs in scoreboard in 50 overs. English fast bowler James Anderson took 3 wickets for the loss of 60 runs.

England also lost two top order batsman for 45 runs. Opening batsman Jonathan Trott scored maiden 87 runs while Paul Collingwood batted the innings through. The first test between India and Sri Lank finished in a draw. In the toss Indian captain MS Dhoni elected to bat first and scored 426 for all the loss of all wickets in 104.5 ovrs. Rahul Dravid Scored 177 runs, while Chanaka Welegedara took 4 wickets.

World Cup Cricket 2011:
World Cup cricket 2011ficture has been scheduled finally. The three South Asian countries will host the tournament. The countries are Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka. The opening ceremony will be held in Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur in Bangladesh on 17 February 2011. Also the first match between Bangladesh and India will be held in the same venue on 19 February. Out of total 49 matches in the tournament, India will host highest 29 games including a quarter final and the tournament final. Sri Lanka will organize 12 matches including a quarter final as well as a semi final, while Bangladesh will stage 8 games including 2 quarter finals. Except the opening game, India will play all of their group stage matches at home; while Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will play the group stage matches in front of their home crowd.

Tournament Format:
There are 14 teams who will be participating in the tournament including 10 test playing nations and 4 associate member countries. The test playing teams have automatically qualified for the tournament, while the 4 associate members have come through the qualifying tournament held in South Africa earlier this year. The four associate members are: Ireland, Canada, Netherlands and Kenya.

The format of ICC World Cup 2011 is not same to that of the previous world cup that took place in West Indies in 2007. All of the 14 teams are divided into two groups of 7 teams each. In the group stage, each team will play against all other group members once in a round robin league system.

In 2007 world cup, there was a ‘Super Eight’ phase involving 8 teams who qualified through group stage, and four best teams from ‘Super Eight’ progressed to the semi final. However, there is no super eight phase in 2011 world cup. In stead, top four teams from each group in terms of points achieved will qualify for the quarter final. There are four quarter finals scheduled to take place on 23 March, 24 March, 25 March and 26 March. That means knock out stage starts just after the group stage. Four winners of the four quarter finals will get into the semi final of the tournament. The winners of the semi finals will meet each other in the tournament final at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on 2 April 2009.

Group A: Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Canada and Kenya
Group B: India, South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Ireland and Netherlands.

All of the 49 matches will be held in 13 different venues across the three countries. Except two new venues in Sri Lanka (Hambantota and Pallekele), the rest of them are test venues including India’s 8 well-known test grounds. Here, I am giving the names of the venues:

Pakistan vs New Zealand 3rd ODI in Abu Dhabi

New Zealand won the Cool & Cool Cup 2009 in Abu Dhabi. In the third and final match New Zealand won by 7 runs in Monday.

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first and set target of 212 runs for Pakistan. Though Pakistan has a good start, but they lost 9 wickets while the score board is on 101. But the number 10 and number 11 batsman Mohammad Aamer and Sayed Azmal made a partnership of 103 runs and very close to the dramatic victory. Number 10 batsman Mohammad Aamer created history in Abu Dhabi. He scored maiden half-century (73 not out from 81 balls). This is the highest run by number 10 batsman in all One Day International. The previous record belongs to D. Marilliar of Zimbabwe, who scored 56* against India in 2001. The number 11 batsman Azmal scored 33, while the third highest (25 runs) of the innings came from the opener Salman Butt’s bat! New Zealand bowler Jacob Oram was fantastic with his bowling figure (9.1-2-20-3).

Earlier New Zealand were all out in 46.3 overs for 211 runs. Branden McCullum was the highest scorer. He scored 76 runs from 78 balls. Pakistani bowler Azmal took 4 wickets for 33 runs.

New Zealand started well with a good opening partnership of 72 runs. McCullam, scored century in last match, scored 76, the highest among the others. Ross Tailor score 44. They faced pace bowlers comfortably while Pakistani spin bowlers done the devastating. Pakistani bowler S. Azmal took 4 wicket for 33 runs. Finally New Zealand managed to score 211 runs for the loss of all wickets in 46.3 overs. Now Pakistan need 212 runs to win the series.

AUS need 171 to win the series!

In Guwahati, India set the target for Australia 171 in the 6th ODI. Australia is leading 3-2 in this current series of 7 matches. Australia needs only 171 runs from 50 overs to confirm the series victory!

Batting first India scored 170 runs from 48 overs. They lost first 4 wickets in 8th over while is score is only 24! Little master Sachin Tendulkar, who scored brilliant 175 in last match, scored 10 while other opening batsman Virender Sehwag managed to score 6! Indian captain MS Dhoni (24 runs) and Ravindra Jadeja (57 runs) tried to re-build the innings. Another tail ender Praveen Kumar was playing straight the innings through. Praveen Kumar was the last not out batsman (54 runs from 51 balls).

Australian opening bowler Mitchell Johnson took 3 wickets for 39 runs, while the most successful bowler is Doug Bollinger, another opening bowler, took 5 wickets for only 35 runs.

Pak vs NZ: series 1-1: McCullum struck his second hundred

In the second ODI in Abu Dhabi, New Zealand won the match and back to the series 1-1. The third and final match of the series will be held in 9th Nov.

Batting first New Zealand lost their Redmond while the score is 21, but in second wicket McCullum and Guptil scored 126 partnership. McCullum scored 131 while Guptill 62. McCullum played a brilliant innings and scored his second ODI century in his 164th match. Finally New Zealand managed to score 303 in 50 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. Among the Pakistani Bowlers Shahid Afridi was most successfull (10-0-49-2).

In reply, Pakistan were all out in 47.2 overs scoring 239 runs. Sulman Butt, highest scorer, manages to score 59 runs before run out. New Zealand Bowler Styris got 3 wickets for 23 runs. Ummer Akmal was not listed for this 2nd ODI.

Now the series is 1-1 between two teams.

Sachin made his 45th ODI Century but lost the Game

Australia 350 for 4 (Marsh 112, Watson 93, White 57) beat India 347 (Tendulkar 175, Raina 59, Watson 3-47, McKay 3-59) by three runs.

Indian little master Sachin Tendulkar scored his 45th ODI century and also had crossed 17,000 runs in the 5th ODI tonight. Australia set a high target of 351 runs. Tendulkar almost chased a target of 351 on his own, except for small contributions from Virender Sehwag and Suresh Raina. But with the target within sight, Tendulkar got out and the rest choked, falling short by three runs with two balls still to go. In Chennai, in 1999-00, Tendulkar, having played an innings as incredible as this, left the last three wickets 18 to get; tonight he left them 19. He wanted to be left alone that evening and will want to be left alone tonight too.

Tendulkar came out of a relatively lean patch, keeping the pace up without taking undue risks and playing mostly cricketing shots, but was left seeking support from the other end. While the chase seemed to be slipping away from India, in isolation, Tendulkar had already played a masterpiece. He started scratchily, as the series so far has been for him, and then shifted gears seamlessly, and counter-attacked every time a wicket fell at the other end. The aerial shots were all hit in vacant areas, strike was alternated efficiently, and Shane Watson's whirlwind 93 earlier in the day seemed to have found its match.

A stunning pulled six and an inside-out four from Tendulkar in Watson's next over meant India still kept the momentum going, and that the required run-rate didn't reach unmanageable proportions. Two more straight sixes, one of the vintage Tendulkar type and the other a mis-hit, put Nathan Hauritz out of the attack. In the 24th over, though, Adam Voges pulled off a stunner at point to send MS Dhoni back, and leave Tendulkar an improbable task to achieve on his own.

The fire and ice combination of Shane Watson and Shaun Marsh took Australia to a huge total on a true and flat Hyderabad pitch. Watson provided the early impetus, converting a conservative start into a boundary-fest towards the end of the first Powerplay. Marsh assumed the anchorman role, and batted almost through the innings. Fifty-four of Watson's 93 runs came in fours and sixes, Marsh ran 68 of his 112. India contributed to their own woes by dropping four catches and generally being their usual casual self in the field.

It shouldn't take away from Watson, though, who added only three after a tough return catch from him was dropped by Yuvraj Singh. By then the damage had been done. Watson made India's bowlers pay dearly for every small error they made in length. Sixty-five of his runs came through midwicket and behind square on the off side, suggesting too many balls on the shorter side. But it was as much about Watson creating the length with his quick eye and footwork, thus putting the bowlers off their plan.

Australia have not followed the Virender Sehwag model of opening the innings in this series, and 24 for 0 from six overs seemed an extension of their three earlier starts: 28 for 1 in six in Vadodara, 40 for 0 in 10 in Delhi, and 37 for 1 in 10 in Mohali. Watson was 10 off 17 ball then, and Marsh 12 off 19. Watson then got two gifts from Praveen Kumar in the seventh: a leg-stump half-volley was flicked ferociously for four, and a short and wide delivery cut to point boundary. Three sixes and five fours in the next five overs later, Praveen, Ashish Nehra and Munaf Patel (in for Ishant Sharma) were left smarting, and the score had rocketed to 80 for 0.

That Marsh did his job showed in how he played only nine of those deliveries. And two of them he hit for fours. The surge, though, was all about Watson. Amid pulling over midwicket, he managed aesthetically appealing shots too: a flick over midwicket off Nehra's bowling and a straight six off Munaf. One of the pulls brought up his 50, in the 11th over, off just 40 balls.

From 97 for 0 in 15 overs, Australia went into consolidation mode. Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh managed to slow things down and bring the run-rate under six. Harbhajan, who has had an ordinary series so far, looked the best Indian bowler on display. It was obvious he had slowed down the pace, was flighting the ball more, and was attacking the off stump as opposed to middle and leg. Chances were created, but Marsh was dropped by MS Dhoni on 29. The slowed scoring rate eventually got to Watson, who went to slog-sweep Harbhajan and top-edged the straighter delivery in the 26th over. Moments later Sehwag dropped Marsh off Yuvraj at short extra, but slyly Marsh had reached 51 off 66 by then.

Only one boundary came in the next seven overs. In the 34th, came a free-hit boundary off Munaf, and then the batting Powerplay. Australia didn't go wild slogging, yet managed at least a boundary hit each in the Powerplay overs. Ricky Ponting was deceived by a Praveen slower delivery in the last of the restriction overs, but his run-a-ball 45 worked well with an ever-accelerating Marsh, who had reached 92 off 100 by then. Forty-four came in those five, Marsh soon reached his maiden century, his strike-rate crossed 100 as he did so, suggesting a smartly paced innings.

For Australia's innings, as a whole, to be as smartly paced, one late cameo was required, and Cameron White and Michael Hussey provided that with brutal hitting in the final few overs. Bangladesh won the series by 4-1

The pitch of 5th ODI in Chittagong was looking a good solid balling pitch but sporty. Bangladeshi captain Sakil Al Hasan won the toss and elected to field first and Zimbabwe scored 221 for the loss of 9 wkts. Brendon Tylor scored unbeaten 118 while second top score is 38 from Chigumbura. Among the Bangladeshi ballers Sakib, Razzak and Mahmudullah got 3 wkts each.

In reply Bangladeshi opener Tamim Iqbal felt retired hard in the very first over and lost another 4 wkts while 102 runs scored in scoreboard. But the middle order batsman Naeem Islam played an outstanding innings of 72 from 93 balls.

Bangladesh won the 5th ODI by 1 wkt and the series by 4-1.

Beckham re-signed on ACMilan

David Beckham, international star from England, re-signed on loan with Italian giants AC Milan on Monday as widely expected, the Serie A side announced.

The 34-year-old had already spent time on loan with AC Milan from his American club LA Galaxy from January this year to June and is desperate to make the England squad for next year's World Cup finals in South Africa.

"I need to give myself the best chance possible to make the World Cup squad and playing for Milan on loan will help me to do that," Beckham said in a statement on the Galaxy website.

"I genuinely enjoyed my time at Milan and I look forward to meeting the players and staff again.

"I'm thankful to Tim Leiweke and Bruce Arena for allowing me this opportunity. I'm committed to LA Galaxy and MLS in the long term and remain as passionate as ever about growing the game of soccer in America.

"I'm completely focused on ending this season on a high note with my club by winning the MLS Cup."

A statement on the Milan website said that Beckham would once again stay at the San Siro from January to June.

"We are very happy to see David Beckham back in the red and black shirt after the splendid experience we had with him last season," said Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani.

"We're sure that this spell in Europe will help him to take part in the next World Cup and then continue his career at Los Angeles Galaxy, whom we thank for their help."

Beckham's initial move to Milan in January this year was tinged with controversy, after the right-sided midfielder opted to extend his three-month loan deal into the summer rather than return to California.

Booed to begin with upon his return, he has since repaired his reputation with the club's fans by leading the Galaxy into the play-offs.

Beckham has mainly been used as a substitute by England coach Fabio Capello, who nonetheless seems likely to offer him a place in England's 23-man World Cup squad.

Milan made a poor start to the season but a recent run of good form has seen them rise to fourth in the Serie A table, while they are well placed to qualify for the knockout phase of

In Chittagong, Bangladesh crushed Zimbabwe by a 6 wkt victory in 4th ODI of 5 matct Grameen Phone Cup Series and leading the series by 3-1.

Batting first Zimbabwe scored only 44 runs from 24.5 ovrs. The lowest score in One Day cricket is also belongs to Zimbabwe, 35 againts Srilanka. The Bangladeshi bowlers have done very good job here. Both the opening bowler Nazmul and Razzak got 2 wkts each for 10 runs and Enamul (Jr) and captain Sakib got 3 wkts each. Among the Zimbabwe batsman only Malcom Waller (13) and Stuart Matsikenyeri (11) managed to score double figure.

Gilchrist: "Too much cricket is creating spectators fatigue"

Excessive cricket is not only a concern for players' burnout but is also creating spectators' fatigue, warned former Australian wicketkeeper batsman Adam Gilchrist, reports PTI.

He said the cricket administrators need to strike a right balance to keep the players as well as fans involved with the game.

"The schedule has been very compact and hectic, especially in the last 6 weeks. Potentially, too much cricket is being played by all countries. It is also creating spectators' fatigue. The spectators are finding it tough to keep up with all variations of the game," Gilchrist said on Wednesday.

"It is something they (administrators) need to monitor and address. A right balance should be maintained. It is a difficult juggling act for the administrators. (They) Make sure players and people are wanting these games rather than pushing them," he said.

He also rated India-Australia rivalry at par with the Ashes or Indo-Pak contest but feels if it is organised on a frequent basis, it will lose its charm.

"India-Australia cricketing rivalry is a wonderful thing for cricket. It catches the imagination of the entire world and is growing. The Ashes has got a lot of history just like India-Pakistan series.

"But as far as how often they should play, it needs a delicate balancing. It (the series) should be held in such a manner that it doesn't go beyond the saturation point," Gilchrist, who is the brand ambassador of University of Wollongong, said on the sidelines of a promotional event.

Gilchrist feels cash-rich tournaments like the IPL or Champions League have added to a cricketers' burden but said it is up to the individual player to set his priority.

He cited Ricky Ponting as a classic example in this regard and said the Australian skipper is a smart customer when it comes to managing his career.

"There should be clever management not just from the selectors or coaching staff but from the player himself. They (players) have the option of not participating in tournaments like the IPL but I know it would be tough for them because of the lucrative dollar on offer.

"Ricky Ponting is a wonderful example of how to manage one's workload," said the inspirational Deccan Chargers' skipper, who guided the Hyderabad team to the second Indian Premier League title in South Africa earlier this year.

Gilchrist also brushed aside fears that Test cricket is in danger of extinction, instead he feels ODIs and Twenty20s will only help in enhancing the traditional version of the game.
